Each of us is unique, and so is our Forest and Nature School. Walden's outdoors programmes are designed to be engaging and individual for everyone. Plenty of opportunities arise for confidence building through connection with other children and the land that we interact with in the Kootenays.
Through tool usage and an alternative perspective on risk, children can learn and grow understanding boundaries of both social and physical behaviour. This hands-on learning approach takes place throughout the year, with the notion of "There’s no such thing as bad weather, there’s just weather and your attitude towards it".
Those who attended Forest School have a stronger start at school. Supporting greater communication skills, improved interaction with others and an overall improvement academic achievements.
Come join us on some great adventures!

With our foundations spanning far and wide, the groundwork was laid in Interior BC. The pandemic gave Josh the space to rethink what matters most to him, what really makes him thrive.

Owner and Lead Facilitator.
It was during my time studying for my Bachelors degree, Environmental Earth Science, from the University of Aberystwyth in Wales, UK, I worked for an outdoors education charity and with a well established forest school.
With an extensive background in environmental education spanning several continents including Europe, Oceania and here in North America, I have continually sought out new challenges and paths. I love adventure sports and pushing my limits.
I am a certified Forest and Nature School Practitioner, also holding Standard Child Care First Aid CPR/AED, Level B.
